Twinning Puppetry Spaces: A Call for Connection
Argentinian Puppeteer Omar Alvarez visits the UK with a vision for unity through puppetry
British UNIMA is delighted to welcome Omar Alvarez, acclaimed Argentinian puppeteer and artistic director of Omar Alvarez TÃteres, to the UK this June.

As part of his visit, Omar brings his celebrated production The Mouse and the Moon to the Norwich Puppet Theatre on Saturday 14 June at 11:00 AM. This poetic tale, aimed at young audiences, follows a small mouse on a heartfelt journey in search of the moon. (👉 Book tickets here)
Later the same day, Omar Alvarez TÃteres company presents Blina’s World By Cristian Palacios at 2:30 PM a vibrant story full of colour, humour, and heart that showcases the expressive range of contemporary puppetry.
But Omar’s visit is more than a performance tour — it's an invitation.
Puppetry Across Borders
Omar is launching an initiative to twin puppetry spaces in the UK and Argentina, fostering artistic collaboration and long-term friendships between two countries. Through dialogue, visits, shared projects, and mutual exchange, this project hopes to build cultural bridges — using puppetry as a tool for peace and understanding.
Meet Omar in London
Omar will also be at Little Angel Theatre in London on the morning of Thursday 12 June, and welcomes informal conversations with anyone interested in the twinning idea — especially those who run or curate puppetry spaces, festivals, or community projects.
