We are delighted to invite you to Puppet Place in Bristol on Monday, 30th June 2025 for an afternoon and evening of talks, demos, networking, our AGM, funding opportunities and much more. Whether you're joining us in person or virtually, this event offers a unique opportunity to engage with the puppetry community and experience inspiring talks, hands-on workshops, and exclusive behind-the-scenes tours.
This day promises first looks at student showings, an inspiring talk by Jane Paterson and of course, the British UNIMA Annual General Meeting (AGM), featuring important updates and the launch of the Penny Francis Award and more…

Getting to Puppet Place
Puppet Place is located at 18 Albion Dockside Estate, Hanover Pl, Bristol BS1 6UT. For full transport options and details, please visit the Puppet Place website.
By Car:
Parking around Puppet Place is limited, and the Clean Air Zone applies in Bristol. For more convenient parking, consider the SS Great Britain Car Park on Gas Ferry Road, a 5-minute walk from Puppet Place.
By Foot:
From the city centre (approx. 25 mins), walk past the SS Great Britain and follow Cumberland Road, turning onto Hanover Place.
By Ferry:
The cross-harbour ferry runs between Hanover Quay and the SS Great Britain (approx. 15 mins). Check their website for schedules.
By Bicycle:
Puppet Place is accessible from the Festival Way cycle path. There are bike racks at Spike Island Studios, a short walk away.
By Public Transport:
The Metrobus m2 route stops at SS Great Britain, just 5 minutes from Puppet Place. For buses, check Travel West for the latest schedules.
By Train:
The closest station is Bristol Temple Meads, approximately a 25-minute walk from Puppet Place.
ACCESSIBILITY: The Rehearsal Studio itself is accessible as it’s on the ground floor and has double door access with a small ramp. However, the toilet facilities aren’t wheelchair accessible as the two doorways to get in to it are standard width, which is 762mm (30in), or 2ft 6in. It’s on the ground floor within the Rehearsal Studio so no steps involved.
