Embodied, Puppet & Shame
Exploring the Emotional Power of Puppetry – Training Opportunity in Barcelona this October
From our friends at Puppet Therapy BCN:
This October, the 6th edition of the International Puppet Therapy Training will take place in Barcelona, offering a unique, immersive experience in the NeuroPuppetry Method™. Titled Embodied, Puppet & Shame, this three-day workshop invites participants to explore shame, trauma, and memory through the expressive potential of animated forms.
Inspired by polyvagal theory, embodied cognition, and relational therapeutic practices, the training is designed to support professionals who work in therapeutic contexts—especially those interested in integrating creative, somatic, and object-based approaches into their practice.
The course runs from October 23 to 25, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM each day, at Espacio La Sala, a central venue in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter. The training will be held in English.
What to Expect
Participants will engage in experiential practices involving puppets and animated objects, exploring how movement, silence, and symbol can activate healing pathways. Topics include:
Shame as an embodied and inhibiting experience
Trauma, memory, and post-witness processes
The symbolic language of puppets in therapeutic reconstruction
No prior puppetry experience is necessary, but the training is especially suited to professionals with a background or interest in therapeutic work—such as art therapists, drama therapists, psychologists, and social workers.
More information on payment and discounts is available on the Puppet Therapy BCN website.
