Call for Members & Volunteers – UNIMA Applied Puppetry Commission
Help shape the future of puppetry for education, therapy, and social well-being
The newly formed Applied Puppetry Commission (2025–2029), led by Chair Terence Tan and Co-Chair Antje Wegener, is now inviting members and volunteers to get involved in exploring and advancing the role of puppetry in social health, development, and well-being.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome practitioners, educators, and advocates working in fields such as:
Puppetry in education
Support for vulnerable people
Relief and therapy work
Social development through the arts
Current Projects
The Commission is already developing several exciting initiatives, including:
Research & development of puppet pedagogy for people with special needs
Translation & dissemination of applied puppetry concepts and studies to more UNIMA national centres
Creation of a hybrid academic course for members worldwide
