Anima IF 2025 – Call for Artists
International Puppet Theatre Festival in Cagliari, Italy
📅 Festival Dates: October 29 – November 2, 2025
🗓️ Deadline to Apply: August 10, 2025
British UNIMA members, an exceptional opportunity awaits!
The eighth edition of Anima IF, an international puppet theatre festival for adult audiences, is now accepting applications. Taking place in the stunning city of Cagliari, Sardinia, this year’s festival explores the powerful and timely theme:
“Rights and Reversals” – a reflection on human rights in complex times.
Anima IF is not just a stage, but a space for exploration, hybridisation, and bold storytelling through puppetry and its many languages. The 2025 edition will spotlight the individual — their dignity, their struggle, and their place in a shifting world.
🔍 Festival Focus
The festival invites puppeteers, artists, and companies working in figure, object, shadow, or visual theatre to submit work that speaks to the human experience in all its layers — personal, political, poetic, and subversive.
This is a call for adult-focused work — challenging, innovative, and emotionally resonant.
In addition to performances, artists are encouraged to submit collateral proposals:
🛠 Workshops
🖼 Installations
🎞 Screenings
📚 Talks or Exhibitions — all relating to the festival’s theme.
