In 2026, the town of Hohnstein will proudly host the 38th Hohnstein Puppetry Festival, marking the 40th anniversary of this unique international celebration of puppetry.
Puppeteers, companies, musicians, walking acts, and street performers from around the world are warmly invited to take part in this special edition. Artists from the UK are especially encouraged to apply and share their artistry with audiences in Saxony.
Highlights for 2026
A vibrant, diverse program with contributions from German-speaking and international artists.
Open to puppetry productions, music, street art, and walking acts that bring the town to life.

The Hohnstein Puppetry Festival is organized by the Tourism Promotion Company of the City of Hohnstein, the City Administration of Hohnstein, and the Hohnstein Puppetry Festival Association (Hohnsteiner Puppenspielfest e.V.).
Note: The festival is contingent on funding approval from the Kulturraum Meißen – Sächsische Schweiz – Osterzgebirge.
