SUBOTICA INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S THEATRE FESTIVAL

From: 16 May 2010
To: 22 May 2010
Venue: Subotica Open University

THE 17TH INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S THEATRE FESTIVAL

Subotica International Children's Theatre Festival was founded in the year 1994 by Subotica Municipal Assembly with the aim of presenting the most valuable and artistically most relevant national and international stage productions for children and of contributing to promotion of new and affirmation of already existing cultural values on international ground.

The festival comprises OFFICIAL SELECTION featuring about twenty theatre productions competing for festival awards annually and an extensive and diverse ACCOMPANYING PROGRAMME encompassing street theatre, festival performances throughout Serbia, a film programme, scientific gatherings, exhibitions and publishing.

Since its inception, the Festival has attained the highest artistic achievements hosting more than 400 theatre productions from various parts of the world, including Europe and host country Serbia. Only 15 performances have won the greatest recognition of the festival – the Festival Grand Prix, but many performances seen at the past 15 festivals have made a significant aesthetic impact on development of theatre dedicated to children and youth in general, and on development of the art of puppetry in particular.
